Bedford Aerodrome Airfield Manager
Bedford Aerodrome (EGBF) is a licensed aerodrome with a 1000m hard runway located adjacent to the Bedford Autodrome motorsport centre. It is owned by MotorSport Vision (MSV), which operates five motor racing circuits in the UK.
EGBF is mainly used from March to November by aircraft visiting the PalmerSport event at adjacent Bedford Autodrome, with about 10 movements per week, some international, though this is expected to increase modestly in 2011. The airfield has minimal facilities currently although there are plans to replace some old military buildings with a new high quality aircraft hangar and operational base in the future.
Further information is available on this website.
MSV operates its own Beechcraft King Air B200GT aircraft which is based at Dunsfold but which also uses Bedford Aerodrome. MSV Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer flies his own Twin Squirrel helicopter and business partner Sir Peter Ogden operates an Agusta 109 Grand.
The airfield is currently managed and maintained by personnel at Bedford Autodrome but a dedicated airfield manager is sought with overall responsibility for the operation of the airfield, including:
The role of Airfield Manager will not be intensive but MSV do require Bedford Aerodrome to be operated to high standards and be well presented. The position is considered to suit someone interested in working on a flexible, part time basis, perhaps semi-retired, who would also attend as many aircraft movements as possible and therefore be reasonably local to the airfield.
Applicants should apply including a full CV to:
